Today we awoke to warm sunshine, a sign that the Spring Weather we envisioned is right around the corner. We had a short glimpse of this when we first arrived at Om Gardens almost two weeks ago but it was quickly followed by rain, clouds and even SNOW yesterday in the morning.
The weather has been a roller coaster ride for sure but as each day passes we get one step closer to completing the enormous task of remodeling this entire property.
There is already an amazing balance of energies occurring between the 6 people that are here so far. We have been gradually incorporating Yoga and Meditation into our daily lives in spite of the workload that lay at our feet! In addition to the remodeling, we share meal preparation, grocery shopping, firewood prep and even the Greenhouses are starting to produce vegetables! OMG, I can't believe it!
We befriended Suzie and Asinete last Saturday and were treated to a tour of their farm, Big Lick Farms. We have 2 shares (portions) in their farm this season. They are a CSA Farm (Community Supported Agriculture) which means that starting in June we will begin receiving to big boxes (enough for 6-8 adults) of raw, organic vegetables each week for 26 weeks. Suzie gave us a big bundle of Swiss Chard and some farm fresh eggs before we left as a welcoming gesture! So Cool!
This Monday - I will be taking the first flight of many to Vegas for my monthly reoccurring perfomance (Kinetic Origins of Rhythm - April 24th @ Beauty Bar, Las Vegas). I'm sure it will be a trip! I swear, it's as if time stands still in our little Oregon sanctuary - a stark contrast to the fast pace of Vegas. Oh well, I'm sure my trip will be like riding a bike seeing as I was born there!
Anyway, using this BLOG - We will be posting pictures, updating remodeling progress and sharing general thoughts here at Om Gardens so feel free to sign up and follow our posts for the latest updates...
Om Shanti ~
